THE NaivEP.
There’s a lot of music being made these days. It’s like somebody left a door open and people just started to literally pour into the music realm. Everyone from school janitors to state legislators has a mixtape or an EP that they’re getting ready to release. My mother is most likely dropping an album at the end of 2012.
This is actually one of the more thorough projects that I’ve come across. THE NaiveEP is a natural blend of soul, pop and rock melodies that will have you craving for a 6th track, but there’s only five. With a tone reminiscent of JT and a delivery similar to Adam Levine, the New Jersery native will have you wondering why you didn’t buy the EP off iTunes. The song that sold me was “Reminds Me of Home”, which sports an upbeat pop/rock beat that you sware you’ve heard on the radio. It’ll make you want to call your grandmother or something. I can’t stop listening to it and now I’m anticipating a full-length album from Tye.
The point of it all: this is an incredible project.
I’d rather let the music speak itself, go and download it yourself!

F*cking broads.
So Filthy.
FILTHY.
So I’ve been in Philly for almost two years. I met all of the up-and-coming artists from this area as far as Hip-Hop is concerned.. all but a few from Complex’s list. But out of all the people that I’ve come across, I’ve vibed with Ground Up‘s movement the most. They’re talented, they’re ambitious and most of all they’re human. Not dissing anybody in particular but there was just an instant connection with these cats. If you heard Maintaining then you’ve heard of Ground Up (from “All Night”).
I believe The Get Up is their 10th mixtape. One this one they have features from Freeway, Reef The Lost Cauze, Jade Alston and myself to name a few. Production wise, of course Bij Lincs was holding it down but they also requested the services of Jahlil Beats and Teddy Roxpin. I need you to download it aaasaaaap.
The song I’m featured on is called “Filthy” and it was produced by Teddy Rox.. BAAAANGER! Check it out.

Who is SLING LORD?
OUTSTANDING!
OUTSTANDING!
OUTSTANDING!
I’m pretty sure everybody is prying off their fingernails trying to figure out who this guy SLING LORD is that produces alot of my material. He’s been my homie for a long time, going on like 22 years now.. OK, SERIOUSLY the Sling Lord is me. I’ve been using that name for a while and I only put on that cap when I get behind the producer’s gun. And that’s something I often do.
I got the name Sling Lord from a Ghostface Killah lyric from his song “Fish” off of the Ironman album. He said “We eat fish, tossed salads and make rap ballads / The biochemical slang lord’ll throw the arrows in the dope fiend.” I could never tell if he said “slang lord” or “sling lord”. I understood it to be “sling lord” because he’s throwing arrows in the dope fiends (sling = sell drugs, I had to help some of y’all out). I can’t wait to tell him that story next time I meet him.
More importantly, I made this post to showcase one of my homie’s tracks that he recently did over a “sling thing”. The god Chris Vance featured Reef The Lost Cauze on “Prep Talk” which made his new project Phlight Music that recently came out, make sure you check that out!
