Warped Tour 1.0

First thing I wanna say before I type anything.. I appreciate everybody who voted for me on the Battle of the Bands site and especially my management team, they helped alot too. Without everybody’s help I wouldn’t have made it on a Warped stage at all so.. good look everybody, wish I could thank y’all personally.

Getting warmed up..

To the point..

I know everybody has heard of the Warped Tour, they’ve been doing it for some time now. It’s pretty big business. Traditionally, they usually host indie bands on the rise and veteran rockers who wouldn’t be caught dead listening to rap.  The tour goes all over the country for a summer, even hitting Canada. Not every band hits every city but most perform for the majority.  The sound crew are the slaves of the tour.. I later found out, lol.

The thing is, I made an assumption about what the crowd was going to be like. I was about as wrong as R. Kelly trying to apply for a summer camp position. The crowd loved my music! I was sounding like somebody at the circus trying to draw people in to come see my show. The security guard said, “Thank God” when I told him I was going to be rapping.  Even a childhood friend who I didn’t see in a minute came out to watch the young man perform, I could feel it was going to be a good night.

"Wassup with the sound, sucka?"

Even with some minor set changes early in the game and some technical difficulties later on, I managed to put on a decent show. More people appreciated and supported me up there than I even imagined, yessuh. There was no glam and glitz, just me and Coach Jonny mobbing in Scranton like it was 2012.

I gave them “Harlem Renaissance”, “Let It All Go” (new sh*t! DJ Clue voice), “Break Time” (new sh*t!) and “Blind” among other joints. It was funny because Blind wasn’t originally on the set list but they heard a 3 second snippet of the beat when Jonny was trying to skip past it and they demanded it. I had to do it for the people!

Me and the homie Slim Biggins, dope producer.

All in all, it was the best experience I had on stage so far, and I hope every show gets better. Those fools know I’ll be back next year. Whether I’m for doli or I bring the entire Nosebleeds crew, I’ll be up there.. somewhere!
